Winner of RIBA Stirling Prize 2015 and procured as part of the BSF scheme. Ion Acoustics was a member of the Mott McDonald Fulcrum team for the Bovis Lend Lease BSF provision and provided the full acoustic design service from bid all the way through to testing. This girls’ school in Wandsworth includes teaching accommodation in a series of traditional corridor style blocks clad in articulated concrete panels. The environmental design retains exposed soffits and has absorption in the form of discrete suspended lighting rafts and baffles. The more critical acoustic spaces for performing arts and music are located in a two-storey building away from the more traditional teaching rooms.
