Major refurbishment of the Cockcroft Building at the University of Brighton winning the AJ 2016 Retrofit award for Higher Education – a 15,000m2 ten storey, concrete framed, mixed-use academic building.

The infrastructure within the Cockcroft Building had reached the end of its’ design life. The building provides accommodation over ten storeys, including laboratories, teaching rooms, offices and workshops used by the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Ion carried out baseline testing in the original building and full acoustic design to the client's design team up to tender.
